Cloth Banners
Cloth Banners
Cloth banners are made in many different ways. One is by hand painting. Hand painted banners were the banners made earlier days when the publicity through banners was thought of. In earlier days, say 4-5 decades ago, the banners of any kind were not known. Those days, banners were made by hand painting only, which was common.
It was difficult those days to make and supply large numbers of cloth banners. Normally, the banners were made first to tell about a proposed event or a programme, for the information of the public. Usually such programmes are arranged quite in advance and hence there was sufficient time to hand paint the banner and supply in limited numbers.
As the technology developed, there started the letters made in wood. The letters then were just pressed on the banner with paint, so that time was saved in painting the entire letters through wooden blocks than painting by hand.
Similarly, blocks were also made for painting o0f images or photos, which again reduced time in making cloth banners.
As the technology further advanced, the cloth banners were improved by printing nature called ‘screen printing’. Through this method, the matter and/or the images to be printed on the cloth banner were prepared on screen and the image is reproduced on the cloth. Through this method, the cloth banners could be made in larger numbers and supplied. The cloth of the banners also started to be in different sizes based on the message or matter like from one line banner to bigger banners to accommodate both messages and photos/images.
Even though, the days are becoming modern and different technologies are available for different types of banners, the banners of cloth have still retained its position.
