Vinyl banners are printed on either gloss or matte finish vinyl. It is considered less expensive than any other materials at least by about 20%, if uncoated vinyl banner material is used.

Some features of vinyl banners are mentioned below:

• It has life in sunlight for 3 years.
• Various color options.
• It has great strength as it is re-enforced by nylon.
• Can be hemmed or grommeted.
• Both gloss and matte finish vinyl is available among which any type can be used as per the requirements.

Matte finish vinyl can be used for trade shows to make it look attractive as it has the ability to accept ink very well. Full color images can be printed on this vinyl just as the way it is done on paper. If one wants a 600dpi printing on outdoor banners, UV stable inks can be used on tradeshow vinyl.

The outer edges of the material, is hemmed over an inch all the way around before putting grommets, to make it of double thickness and four thicknesses at corners. This hemming reduces the effective width of the banner by two inches to several inches. Though this vinyl banner is strong, the wind may affect it. So, it is better to hang them against a building.

Compared to Fiber-Reinforced Matte Finish vinyl banners, poly banners are highly reflective. When used as a backdrop banner, poly banners reflect lighting and flash photography. Also, they are prone to wrinkling where as the Fiber-Reinforced Matte Finish vinyl banners are not.
